Port of Thevenard
Thevenard is located 3km from the centre of Ceduna, major export cargoes handled through the port include gypsum, grains, seeds and salt exports, and fertiliser imports.
Flinders Ports manages the Port of Thevenard and the Port Manager is situated in Thevenard at the wharf. For further information contact: (08) 8625 2077.
Bulk Cargo Handling Facilities

Rail
The rail system operates on a narrow gauge system, and it is the only line on Eyre Peninsula that carries more than one commodity, with gypsum being transported by rail from Penong to Ceduna and grain from Ceduna to Port Lincoln.
It is worth considering the rail line for freight and transport services as a possibility. The rail line is owned and operated by Genesee & Wyoming Australia.
Freight
Much of the freight into Ceduna comes via semi trailers, b-doubles and road trains. Smaller articles arrive by overnight freight services. Ceduna has a number of truck companies situated within the town and services for freight haulage, refrigerated transport and overnight freight are all offered on a daily basis.
Air freight is also available via the airlines coming to the Ceduna Airport, this service is offered daily. Bus freight through Premier Stateliner Coachlines also provides a regular service to and from Ceduna.
Many trucks returning from Perth are empty and often have space available for freight to back load with to the east.
Roads
Ceduna is ideally situated with the Eyre Highway or National Highway Number One (east/west route) passing directly through the town. A large number of trucks including refrigerated transport and buses pass through the town daily.
The Flinders Highway (to Port Lincoln) joins the Eyre Highway approximately 6kms to the east of Ceduna.
Premier Stateliner Coachlines offers a regular bus service four times a week between Adelaide and Ceduna in both directions and taxi and car rental services are available within the town.
Fuel
Ceduna is serviced by four major fuel companies - BP, Mobil, Shell and Ampol-Caltex. There are approximately four businesses that offer seven day a week reliable service. In addition to this three of these service stations operate a twenty four hour service. Bulk fuel is also available through several agents.
